We are looking for someone to join our team to keep detailed records of all income and expenditure, preparation of quarterly VAT returns and preparation of the annual financial report.
Recording all receipts and payments to the Society’s bank account in a software package called BusinessAccountz. Completing quarterly VAT returns to HMRC. Preparing annual accounts with notes from the BusinessAccountz package. Participating in committee meetings. Advising the committee on accountancy issues.
DVCE is a community benefit society operated for the benefit of the community by volunteers. This role will not involve any financial compensation and any services you provide will be on a purely voluntary basis.
Whilst no formal accountancy qualifications are required, experience with bookkeeping and dealing with VAT returns would be desirable.
It is anticipated that a commitment of ~4 hours per week would be required.
Full training/handover by the existing controller who is retiring from the role due to ill health.
