Community Benefit Society
The objectives of the project are to generate carbon-free electricity and utilise any profits for community benefit schemes in Congleton and its surrounding areas. As a community benefit society the rules ensure:
– the assets of the company will be used for the benefit of the community,
– the management of the society shall remain in the hands of the local community.
– disposable profits from the project will be invested in the local community.
As a Community Benefit Society, we are committed to encouraging people to get involved in taking responsibility for looking after their environment.
Making The World a Better Place
Once the project starts to generate profits we will be inviting community groups to apply for grants, the preference would be for groups and organisations with green credentials looking to further enhance the green environment. In the future, we will feature on this page the successful groups and organisations.
